Video/Movie Maker

Videos can be used to share with the class information about a specific topic in the event that the entire class cannot make it out on a field trip albeit rain, storm, incapability on the administrative side.

Students today seem to have the learning style where "visual" aids assist them in recalling what was seen. In this light, showing videos after teaching a topic - and again, if it isn't possible to travel - it will cement what was taught and the students will have a deeper appreciation.

Reflection:

  • The piece produced in this portfolio is a video using Movie Maker from Windows Live
  • The piece will be used to tie together the entire topic of Vulcanism and Earthquakes
  • Challenges faced in this piece were putting in the different animations and text - ensuring that each flowed well, along with the music over the video which sort of clashed with some of the audio within the clip
  • To improve this piece, I would need someone to assist me in splitting the music properly to avoid overplaying on the video clip
